Video: Nacero plans large-scale Methanol production with Topsoe Technology featured image

Bruce Selkirk, Executive Chairman and CEO of Nacero, discusses the company’s mission to deliver significant emissions reductions through large-scale methanol fuel production. Their current focus is developing a low-carbon methanol facility on the Texas Gulf Coast, now 80% through front-end engineering design.

Using both fossil and renewable natural gas on a mass balance basis, Nacero aims to provide flexible fuel options for aviation, maritime, and road transport. Using Topsoe's SynCOR™ technology, Nacero  can efficiently scale operations to meet the growing maritime demand for low-carbon methanol.

With maritime fuel demand growing, methanol and ammonia present a promising solutions. Nacero sees significant potential for methanol adoption and is positioning itself to play a key role in the industry's transition to low-emission fuels. But, as Bruce notes, regulation and incentivization still needs to be clarified to support this important journey.
