    High tolerance to feed contaminants

    In addition to aromatics and sulfur, spent lubes contain substantial amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and zinc. These are feed contaminants that lead to deactivation of hydroprocessing catalysts used in the re-refining process.

    Topsoe can help solve the problem. Our portfolio of catalysts offer high tolerance to feed contaminants, while dramatically lowering aromatics and sulfur content in the feed. In fact, our re-refining can even improve cloud point and viscosity index (VI), improving the quality of your base oil from Group I, to Group II or even Group III.
